Extreme Cleaning | Hoarding & Clutter

According to the Mayo Clinic, compulsive hoarding is defined as "the persistent difficulty in discarding or parting with possessions due to a perceived need to save them."

Traumatic and stressful events such as the loss of a loved one are associated with the onset of hoarding behaviors; Abnormalities in neuropsychological functioning or even brain injuries can make a person a "hoarder". Convincing a "hoarder" to clean up their lifelong accumulation of items is already a difficult process and can take a while for them to become aware that they need help. And the reality is that this organization project will require more than just a basic cleaning of the house, it will require a major "task effort".
